Graduate Programs in Molecular Biosciences

The only course requirement specific to the Biochemistry program is the three-credit Biophysical Chem I (16:160:537) and three additional credits from a Seminar in Biochemistry (16:115:613/614).  Substitutions may be granted with seminars from other related programs.

Students may fulfill remaining credits with courses from the Biochemistry program or the broader Molecular Biosciences umbrella. Course selections outside this umbrella require the program director’s permission. Students may use their lab rotation credits towards their formal course credit requirement.

Research in Biochemistry is required each semester (16:115:701/702). (24 credits minimum/40 credits suggested)

Subsequent year courses required by all programs of the Molecular Biosciences:

One of three statistics courses, preferably in the second or third year: (16:115:557 or 16:125:578, or 16:960:501)

Graduate Student Research Seminar every semester of every year (16:695:600)

Ethical Scientific Conduct refresher for 5th year PhD students and MD/PhDs in third year of PhD (16:115:556)
