The Lyu Laboratory studies the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying host–microbe interactions in cancer and inflammatory disorders. Our research seeks to understand how microbial metabolites and microbial antigen-specific immune responses regulate tissue immunity, inflammation, tumor progression, and responses to immunotherapy. Our long-term goal is to uncover fundamental mechanisms by which microbes shape host physiology and to develop novel therapeutic strategies for cancer and inflammatory diseases. To achieve these goals, we integrate mouse models, flow cytometry, transcriptomics, metabolomics, spatial profiling, and other multi-omics approaches to investigate host–microbe interactions across experimental models and human tissues.
